Vaccine storage not affected by power outage — official

AMMAN — Vaccines in the national immunisation programme as well as the COVID vaccination programme were not affected by the temporary power outage on Friday, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.
Ghazi Sharkas, assistant secretary general at the Primary Healthcare Services at the Ministry of Health, said that the vaccines have been stored in accordance with a contingency plan, including checks of refrigerators’ temperatures, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Sharkas added that a number of vaccines have been transported by refrigerated vehicles to storage areas equipped with generators to ensure the stability of the storage temperature during the outage.
