Palestinian ambassador thanks Jordan for support

AMMAN — Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan Atallah Khairi on Sunday expressed appreciation of the Kingdom’s position in support of Palestinians in the face of Israeli aggression, which continued for a second week, targeting people and buildings under a “scorched earth” policy using internationally banned weapons. 

Khairi said that His Majesty King Abdullah, the government and the people  of Jordan have stood by the Palestinians, highlighting  His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts at the regional and international levels to bring an end to the Israeli aggression from the first day of the Israeli aggression. 

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, as per Royal instructions, has made intensive political and diplomatic efforts on the regional and international arenas to restore calm and stop the Israeli violence against Palestinians, the Palestinian ambassador said.

The envoy also lauded His Majesty’s directives to dispatch medical and in-kind assistance through an air bridge to the Palestinian territories, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The Palestinian people and leadership highly appreciate Jordan’s support amid these hard circumstances, he said, expressing the Palestinian leadership’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites that has kept their Arab and Islamic identity intact over the past decades.
