AMMAN — Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF) CEO Kholoud Saqqaf on Thursday inaugurated the third solar power station in Southern Shouneh’s Al Ramah region, the last part of a sustainable energy project to provide electricity to hotels owned by the Social Security Corporation (SSC), SSC branches and the SSIF headquarters.

Saqqaf said the power station in Jordan Valley’s Al Ramah region, with a capacity of five megawatts and built at a cost of JD3.7 million, will provide electricity to Aqaba’s Intercontinental and Dead Sea’s Holiday Inn hotels, according to a SSIF statement.

The CEO noted that with the launch of the third station, the SSIF has completed a three-station project with a total capacity of 15 megawatts at a total cost of JD17 million.

The project, while under construction, provided 300 jobs for Jordanian engineers and workers, she added.
