AMMAN — The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) and the Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) Criminal Investigation Department on Tuesday warned against fake credit firms offering fraudulent loans to citizens after collecting fees from them.
A PSD spokesperson said that the CBJ has informed the directorate that unlicensed financial firms are using social media platforms to lure people by claiming that they will provide them with loans and credit facilities from local banks and other lenders. The PSD called on the public not to respond to such advertisements, inviting them to report such activities via 911 or visit the nearest police station.
