Jordan condemns Houthis’ targeting of Saudi cities

AMMAN — Jordan on Sunday condemned the Houthi militia’s continued targeting of Saudi cities, the latest of which was lunching a ballistic missile towards the capital, Riyadh, in addition to deploying several armed drones towards cities in the kingdom’s south, which have been thwarted and destroyed by the Arab coalition forces, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Daifallah Fayez expressed Jordan's condemnation and rejection of this terrorist acts and targeting innocent people, a violation of international law that criminalises the targeting of civilians.
He also stressed Jordan's full solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia in facing any threats to its security and stability, reiterating that “both kingdoms’ security is intertwined” and that “any threat to Saudi Arabia is a threat to the security and stability of the entire region”.
Fayez also stressed the importance of reaching an immediate and lasting ceasefire, highlighting the necessity of Houthis’ response to UN efforts and initiatives aimed at finding a political solution in accordance with the approved terms of reference to end the crisis and achieve security and stability, to meet the aspirations of the Yemenis towards stability, security and peace.
The statement also commended the capabilities of the Arab coalition forces shown during the interception of the ballistic missile and armed drones.
