Work of 1,711 food establishments suspended, 365 institutions shut for violations

AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) suspended the work of 1,711 food establishments and closed other 365 institutions that violated regulations over the past year.

 

 

JFDA Director Nizar Mhidat said that the administration conducted some 39,075 inspection visits in 2020, which resulted in issuing 18,473 fines, suspending the work of 1,711 food institutions and destroying 2,950,639 tonnes of spoiled food, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
