Saidan checks up on water projects, dams in Karak, Tafileh

AMMAN — Water and Irrigation Minister Motasem Saidan on Saturday checked on water projects and dams in Karak and Tafileh, as well as water provision and progress of work in several schemes the ministry is implementing in preparation of next summer.
Saidan said that the ministry conducted several water projects in various areas of the two governorates to serve citizens and improve water systems and water supplies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported, citing a ministry statement.
In Karak, the minister listened to a briefing about main challenges facing the construction of the new Karak purification station, noting that a number of committees will be formed to review the operation of the station. Visiting the Tannour Dam in Tafileh, Saidan had a firsthand look at the procedures followed.
