Jordan calls for de-escalation of tensions between Armenia, Azerbaijan

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Monday said that it was closely following up developments as tensions flare up between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Deifallah Fayez highlighted the importance of de-escalation, self-restraint and reaching a ceasefire and resolving the conflict through peaceful means and negotiations in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions, according to a ministry statement. The Foreign Ministry also expressed grief over the loss of lives in the conflict.
