Abul Saud urges Water Authority to check on dams

AMMAN — Water Minister Raed Abul Saud on Tuesday directed the dam safety committee at the Water Authority of Jordan to embark on an inspection campaign to ensure the readiness of dams to receive rainwater.
The Water Ministry said that the procedure aims at ensuring the safety of these vital national facilities to receive the next wet season, according to a ministry statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Abul Saud said that protecting dams is a main procedure for the water sector, especially that the reservoirs play a role in increasing the levels of ground water to maintain sufficient strategic reserves.
