Series of workshops on skills development commences in Amman

AMMAN — The EU-funded project “Technical Assistance to the Skills for Employment and Social Inclusion Programme for Jordan” (TA SESIP), implemented by a consortium led by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) started a series of workshops in Amman on Tuesday.

Three workshops will be held for five non-consecutive days on development of curricula, instructional material and testing for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) professionals from Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) and TVET institutions, according to a statement from the organisers. 

The workshops, scheduled to conclude on August 31, are organised by the Curriculum Development and Training of Trainers (TOT) Component of the SESIP Project.

The workshops are prepared and facilitated by the key expert of the component, Abdelbasit Saleh, the statement said.

“The Technical Assistance to the Skills for Employment and Social Inclusion Programme for Jordan” is an EU-funded project with the objective of providing capacity development support, and technical assistance, trainings for strengthening the TVET social partners dialogue and advisory, the statement said. 

This programme caters for E-TVET line ministries and their related institutions, civil society organisations and social partners in the areas of governance, capacity building, quality assurance, curricula development and training of trainers, and employability and labour market management. 

The SESIP project is part of a 52 million-euro European Union budget support programme to Jordan, according to the statement.
