AMMAN — Minister of Culture Basem Tweissi and Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif Bin Bandar Al Sudairi on Wednesday reiterated the deep historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, Tweissi lauded Saudi Arabia's efforts in the cultural field, noting that the COVID-19 crisis has affected cultural activities, but the values of society and Arab and Islamic heritage have "contributed in alleviating the impact of the pandemic", the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Attaching importance to cultural ties, Sudairi said that Jordan’s participation in the G20 summit, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia in November, shows Amman’s engagement on the Arab and international levels.
Praising Jordan’s culture scene, the envoy called for benefitting from the Jordanian cultural experience and developing mutual ties in this arena, expressing keenness to improve sustainable development. The two sides also discussed participating jointly in festivals and drawing up a cultural agenda that tackles Nabataean civilisation.
