AMMAN —  Education Minister Tayseer Nuaimi on Thursday checked on the distance learning process in a number of remote areas of Tafileh Governorate.

The minister during his inspection tour met the administrative staff and teachers of schools in Seil Al Hassa and Al Eis and got a first-hand look at the 25 mobile classrooms that were established in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) and KBW Ventures, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Expressing appreciation for CPF and KBW Ventures’ initiative, the minister highlighted the importance of the gesture in supporting the ministry’s efforts amidst the exceptional circumstances that the country is experiencing, as the mobile classrooms contribute in empowering students in the targetted regions, ensuring their right to education and creating a healthy distance-learning environment.

The initiative also underpins the ministry’s plans to implement enrichment programmes during the summer vacation to compensate students for the learning opportunities they have missed during the current period.

Lauding teachers’ efforts to make the Kingdom’s e-learning process successful amid the coronavirus crisis, Nuaimi said that around 85,000 teachers have registered with the ministry’s teacher training platform.
