AMMAN — Minister of Health Saad Jaber on Thursday announced that, for the third day in a row, no new COVID-19 cases were recorded inside the Kingdom, noting that two non-Jordanian truck drivers tested positive for the virus at the border, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister, during a press briefing at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, also said that six patients have recovered.
A total of 4,100 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Thursday, setting a new record and “reflecting the great efforts of the epidemiological inspection teams”, Jaber said.
The World Health Organisation has warned against rushing with rapid economic opening and easing the procedures of the curfew, he said, adding that the pandemic is still widespread in other countries.
He affirmed that the severity of the preventative measures taken by the government, including curfew regulations, will be increased or decreased according to the Kingdom’s epidemiological situation, especially in light of the return of thousands of Jordanian students soon.
