AMMAN — The Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) on Thursday launched the online platform for HCST Chairman HRH Prince Hassan’s initiative “Teach Yourself”.
According to HCST Secretary General Dia Addin Arafa, the platform aims to enhance the role of the HCST in supporting the educational process for university students in light of the unprecedented circumstances the Kingdom is experiencing, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Arafa added that the platform will “greatly assist” students in e-learning, as it includes various academic majors in public and private universities, allowing students to “easily obtain the required information for their academic courses”.
He pointed out that the initiative is the result of coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education, universities, the Higher Education Council and the Higher Education Accreditation Commission.
These concerned bodies cooperated to determine the materials to be uploaded to university platforms as open sources, he said, adding that they complement academic courses and are “not a substitute” for them.
He noted that the platform can be accessed via the link: http://www.teachyourselfjo.com, or through the HCST’s website: www.hcst.gov.jo.
