Donations to Health Ministry’s coronavirus response efforts reach JD15m

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health has received JD15 million in donations, and in-kind contributions valued at JD3 million to support its fight against the coronavirus, Assistant Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the ministry Muhammad Abu Jbara said on Tuesday.

The ministry has received donations to its bank account and the "eFAWATEERCOM" platform via https://moh.gov.jo:8080/donation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Donations were also sent to the bank account opened in the Central Bank of Jordan under the name "Donations/Ministry of Health - IBAN JO29 CBJO 0010 0000 0000 0131 0011 81".

Abu Jbara said that the ministry has opened bank accounts and other means for donors to make contributions easily. Links and mechanisms for donations have been published through official pages, social media sites, the official website of the ministry and official TV channels, the secretary general said.

He noted that cheques deposited to the ministry’s account will be dedicated to supporting the health sector, mainly to prepare health personnel and secure medical supplies to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The official said that the ministry regularly publishes the list of donors on its website in appreciation of their national role and humanitarian gestures.
