AMMAN — Minister of Education Tayseer Nueimi on Saturday decided to postpone start times for all schools in the Kingdom to 10am on Sunday due to the prevailing inclement weather conditions.
The ministry delegates the authority to educational directors to take decisions to suspend classes based on weather conditions in their respective areas in coordination with administrative governors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The decision includes private sector schools, military schools, UNRWA schools and evening schools for Syrian students, as well as schools in Syrian refugee camps. Winter break, or the break between the two scholastic semesters, has started in public schools according to the amended school calendar, and the schools are scheduled to begin the next semester on February 16.
