AMMAN — Medical staff of the Jordanian field hospital “Gaza 62” on Wednesday arrived in the coastal enclave, while the staff of the "Gaza 61" field hospital arrived in the Kingdom after finishing their duties in Gaza.

The commander of Gaza 62 said that hospital staff immediately initiated the necessary preparation to start their duties, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Meanwhile, the hospital director noted that the qualified medical, nursing, pharmacy and technical personnel at the hospital cover "all basic medical specialisations". The coastal enclave has been under Israeli siege since June 2007.

Under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, Jordan’s field hospital was established in 2009, and has since treated over 1.9 million patients.
