AMMAN — Chief Commissioner of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Suleiman Farajat has met with UNESCO Senior Project Officer of the World Heritage Nature, Sustainable Tourism and Outreach Unit Peter Debrine.
The two sides discussed PDTRA’s mission strategy for the next five years, according to a statement from the authority.
The meeting was a follow-up to a meeting held in Paris in October 2019. Farajat noted that the strategy, created in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the UNESCO Amman office and other donors, revolves around the priority of planning, which involves Petra, tourism development and the local community.
Farajat also visited the rose-red city and toured the heritage village and little Petra, the statement said.
