FM, Iraqi parliament speaker talk ties during Amman meeting

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday received Iraqi Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al Halbousi, according to a ministry statement.
Talks during the meeting covered the steps the two countries have taken towards advancing mutual cooperation, the latest regional developments and means of de-escalating regional tensions.
Safadi reiterated the Kingdom’s firm position on supporting Iraq and maintaining its sovereignty and stability, stressing the importance of supporting the reconstruction of Iraq after its “great victory against the Daesh terror group”.
Halbousi valued Jordan’s “unwavering supportive stances” towards Iraq, voicing keenness to enhance mutual relations in all fields.
