AMMAN — Lower House Speaker and President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) Atef Tarawneh on Monday highlighted the importance of utilising parliamentary expertise to develop Arab parliamentary action.
Inaugurating a meeting of the APU parliamentary excellence committee in Amman, Tarawneh said that Arab nations face difficult and complicated circumstances that require all parliaments to “discard whatever separates Arab countries and boost commonalities”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that Arab parliaments are capable of making a “qualitative leap” towards reconciliation among Arabs.
