AMMAN — The Kingdom is committed to the Palestinian cause and to Jerusalem, Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh said on Wednesday, reaffirming its pledge to not accept any compromise that neglects the Palestinians’ legitimate rights to end the occupation and establish their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Tarawneh made his remarks during a meeting with a delegation representing Jabal Al Mukabber Club and Sawahreh tribe, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Mahmoud Zahaykeh, honorary president of Jabal Al Mukabber Club and president of the Union of Housing Cooperatives in Palestine, said that the Hashemite Custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem has failed the occupation’s attempts to “Judaise” Jerusalem.
