Ississ, ADFD chief talk cooperation

AMMAN — Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and State Minister for Economic Affairs Mohamad Al-Ississ on Thursday met Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) Mohamed Suwaidi and discussed ways to enhance economic and development cooperation between Jordan and the UAE. 

Ississ highlighted the strong relations between the two countries and hailed the progress being made through bilateral cooperation on various levels, according to a statement from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

The minister expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support to Jordan’s development efforts and expressed the Kingdom’s hopes for continued cooperation with the UAE and its institutions, in service of the two peoples.

Ississ also expressed gratitude for the ADFD’s role in supporting the Kingdom’s growth through its management of grants provided to Jordan by the UAE and in the form of concessional loans provided by the fund, the statement said. 

He highlighted the significance of the UAE’s participation in the London initiative in February and the meeting that followed in April, which addressed the outcomes of the initiative and Jordan’s roadmap towards reforming its energy sector.

Suwaidi reiterated the importance of cooperation between the ADFD and the Jordanian government and commended the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation for its efforts to facilitate coordination, according to the statement.
