New chief of legislation, opinion bureau sworn in

AMMAN — Fidaa Hmoud was sworn in on Thursday before Prime Minister Omar Razzaz as president of the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, after a Royal Decree was issued endorsing her appointment.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Sami Daoud, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hmoud, who is the first woman to assume such a post, holds a master’s degree in civil law and a higher diploma in legal sciences. She has been a judge at the Amman Court of Appeals, president of the West Amman Court of First Instance and a judge in several courts before that, in addition to her being senator.
