AMMAN — The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) on Wednesday announced the launch of its “new and improved” Visit Jordan website, to be available in six languages soon, said the statement that was sent to The Jordan Times.
Currently in English, the Arabic version will follow shortly, as well as four other languages to cater to an international audience of Jordan-bound visitors, the JTB noted.
Aside from tourist sites and attractions, the website focuses on activities and experiences in Jordan that would appeal to visitors, according to the JTB statement.
It also allows officially registered local service providers to list the unique experiences they offer by listing their services for tourists to choose from.
On the visitor’s end, the website allows tourists to customise their experience in Jordan to their interests and explore user-generated content to showcase tourism experiences through the eyes of the tourists, the statement added.
“In light of the recent increase in number of tourists due to the newly launched low-cost and charter flight carriers, demand is only rising, which makes it even more imperative to be efficient, innovative and adaptive in the way we shed light on the unique touristic experiences Jordan is capable of providing,” said JTB Managing Director Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat.
On the technological frontier, the website incorporates chatbot technology to facilitate instant answers to the visitor’s inquiries from all over the globe, the statement underlined.
It can help answer frequently asked questions and guide users through the website and the trip planning process, the JTB highlighted.
“The dynamics of the tourism industry are constantly changing, demanding an innovative approach to measure up to the international standards of any tourism-related entity,” Arabiyat explained.
The board’s efforts are focused on developing and applying modern tools to serve and represent Jordan, as the website is expected to engage the wide segment of tourists interested in visiting the Kingdom from all over the world, the statement concluded.
