Education committee welcomes resolutions to end Balqa student strike

AMMAN — Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Culture and Education Committee Ibrahim Bdour on Saturday welcomed the Balqa Applied University’s decision to meet students’ demands and put an end to their strike, which has been ongoing for days.

Students demanded the school restore grading methods and postpone the semester’s registration period, according to a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Bdour said he valued university President Abdullah Zu’bi’s response to the students’ demands, reasserting the importance of dialogue and continued communication in the face of any challenges.

The House also announced the formation of a technical committee to look into the numerous grading systems implemented and choose one of them to standardise across the Kingdom for the upcoming semesters.
