Princess Dina inaugurates cancer awareness ‘Success Path’ initiative

AMMAN — HRH Princess Dina Mired, president of the Union for International Cancer Control, on Sunday inaugurated the launch of the “Success Path” initiative.
The initiative is organised by the World Islamic Sciences and Education University, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The projects aims to raise public awareness of cancer, preventive methods and the importance of early diagnosis, in addition to providing psychological and social support to patients.
Princess Dina said that their meeting focused on methods for combating cancer and sending a message of hope and determination to cancer patients all over the world.
She also said that noncommunicable diseases kill around 41 million people each year, pointing out that 70 per cent of these cases take place in developing countries.
For his part, University President Salman Bdour voiced his appreciation for the princess’s regional and international efforts in combating cancer.
