GDP up 2 per cent in Q3 of 2018, driven by growth in social, personal services sector

AMMAN — The Kingdom’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 2 per cent at fixed market prices during the third quarter of 2018 compared with that of the same period of 2017.
The Department of Statistics said in a statement, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Wednesday, that most sectors witnessed positive growth during the third quarter of 2018 compared with the July-September period of 2017.
The social and personal services sector recorded the highest growth rate with 3.5 per cent, followed by the agriculture sector with 2.9 per cent, transport, storage and communications sector with 2.8 per cent and the finance, insurance and real estate sector with 2.7 per cent.
