AMMAN — The Social Security Corporation (SSC) recently launched a campaign to raise awareness on the need for employers to include their employees under provisions of the Social Security Law and according to their real wages.
In a press release issued by the SSC’s media centre on Sunday, the corporation called on all employees to verify their coverage within a maximum period of six months from the date of their joining their company.
The corporation said it is committed to registering uninsured employees so they receive the benefits of the law and pensions allocated by the SSC.
The corporation warned against employers not providing their social security coverage to their employees, which it said is a clear violation of the Social Security Law.
The Social Security Law stipulates that every employer must register all of their employees upon employment, regardless the duration or form of their contract.
The SSC subscription must be covered by the employees wages, provided that they are not paid less than the minimum wage of JD220.
The corporation called on the insured to contact it by calling (065008080) from any landline or any other phone from inside or outside of the Kingdom, or visiting any of the SSC’s branches and offices all over the Kingdom.
The SSC added that it also launched a number of electronic channels for related inquiries via its website
(www.ssc.gov.jo).
