MPs meet with foreign officials on ties, Palestine

AMMAN — Members of the Lower House committees on Foreign Affairs and Palestine met with Indonesian Ambassador Andy Rachimianto on Monday and discussed Indonesia’s role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
Chairman of the Palestine Committee Yahya Saud said Jordan looks forward to enhancing relations with Indonesia, especially at the parliamentary level, according to an official statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Rachimianto said that Indonesia is following up on the latest developments in Palestine and Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.
The committee also met an Irish parliamentary delegation chaired by Sinn Féin party leader Mary McDonald on the effect of the influx of Syrian refugees in Jordan. The Irish delegation also stressed the need to expedite peace efforts in Palestine to arrive at a just and peaceful solution.
