AMMAN — The Cabinet on Monday renewed exemptions from ownership transfers of completed residential units, regardless of the seller, provided their area does not exceed 150sq.m, an official Cabinet statement said.
The previous regulations only exempted from such levies from apartments and other residential units sold by registered developers.
If the area exceeds the said figure-up to 180sq.m, the fees will be paid only for the extra area, or 30sq.m. Above that, the buyer will pay ownership fees for the entire unit, according to the statement. The exemption decision applies only to Jordanian nationals and for one time only.
