PM reiterates Geneva Human Rights Council recommendations

AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday stressed the importance of heeding the recommendations of the Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva for Jordan during the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) for Human Rights, according to a communique carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
All governmental agencies have been instructed to provide the government’s human rights coordinator at the Prime Ministry with suggested measures for the implementation of the 131 recommendations made by the HRC.
In the meantime, the Prime Minister requested that government agencies reassess implementation and compliance with 21 recommendations the government had previously pledged to review.
The report is to be submitted to the Prime Ministry’s coordinator before end of day, February 1, 2019.
