For better mental health

Nov 18,2018 - Last updated at Nov 18,2018

It is apparent that mental health influences how people think, feel and behave in daily life. It also affects the way you feel about yourself, the quality of your relationships and your ability to manage your feelings and deal with others.

In light of the above, it is essential to know how to maintain the quality of our mental health.

One of the important things you need to do in order to maintain your mental health is considering some omega-3 fatty acids into your daily food. Omega-3 is said to be responsible for decreasing the rates of depression. Fish oil supplements work, but eating your omega-3s in foods like wild salmon, flaxseeds or walnuts also helps in building healthy gut bacteria as well as improving immune system.

On the other hand, another applicable exercise is learning to forgive people. It is commonly known that people who forgive are expected to enjoy better mental health and more satisfied with their lives.

In addition to the previously mentioned points, you need to make time for the people you love. Keeping regular contact with friends and family, whether it is face-to-face, on the phone or by text, can strengthen your relationships.

Talk about the way you feel. Opening up to a trusted friend or family member can help you feel listened to and supported. Just acknowledging your feelings by saying them out loud will be helpful.
