AMMAN — INJAZ held its Annual Business and Social Entrepreneurship National Competition recently, which aims at evaluating entrepreneurial projects and startups that generate from the INJAZ Company Startup Programme  and Competition, according to a statement from INJAZ.

The programme is implemented in all Jordanian universities and community colleges in collaboration with King Abdullah II Fund for Development, and in partnership with the Canadian Bureau for International Education, the Canadian Ryerson University and UNICEF, the statement said.

Of the 264 start-ups that have been established through INJAZ’s business and social entrepreneurship programmes, 121 entrepreneurial projects and start-ups qualified for the final competition, and were given the opportunity to meet with fellow entrepreneurs and learn about their projects, the statement added.

Entrepreneurs presented their projects before a committee of experienced professionals who evaluated their startups and social projects and selected those that would join the incubator.

CEO of INJAZ Deema Bibi, said in the statement that the four-day competition is one of INJAZ’s most important activities; as it brings together young entrepreneurs from all over the governorates that have enrolled in INJAZ’s entrepreneurship programmes implemented in universities and colleges across the Kingdom.

According to the statement, the incubator was designed to be a supportive business environment that harnesses innovation and creativity and addresses the basic needs of entrepreneurs, according to Bibi, who added that the incubator offers young innovators the chance to benefit from experienced mentors.

In addition, the incubator provides a number of specialised training sessions on entrepreneurship and supportive services, such as logistic, legal and technical consultancy, in addition to mentorship and access to opportunities.

Bibi noted in the statement that INJAZ, since its establishment, has worked alongside various local and international partners in a bid to offer young people opportunities that meet their needs and aspirations.
