Samsung Amman Int’l Marathon goes all out for 10th anniversary special

AMMAN — The 10th Samsung Amman International Marathon, Run Jordan’s pioneer event, is all ready for its Friday start under the slogan “Run to The Heart of Amman”, according to organisers.

There are events to fit all ability levels, including the featured 42km marathon, a 21km half marathon a 10km race, and a 42km relay race; a new category that has been added as part of the 10th anniversary celebration. There is also a wheelchair race and a special category for the visually impaired.

The routes of the annual marathon and half-marathon races are situated in the heart of downtown area and provide runners a close-up view of some of Amman’s important landmarks and antiquities.

The 42km, 42km relay and 21km races start at 6pm in front of the finish line Hashemite Arena traffic light, while the 10km race starts at 9am opposite the Royal Cultural Centre.
