AMMAN — It was a disappointing start to their Youth Olympics campaign for Jordan’s 3x3 Basketball team which lost both its matches on Tuesday in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to the Jordan Olympic Committee News Service.
A 19-5 defeat at the hands of Turkmenistan was followed by a 21-4 loss to Georgia, leaving them bottom of Group A which also includes Slovenia and China who Jordan will play on Saturday.
Only the top two from each of the four groups will qualify to the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, swimmer Mohammad Al Bedour’s hopes of reaching the final of the 50m Freestyle ended on Tuesday.
Al Bedour clocked a fine time of 23.62 seconds in his heat, but it was only the 20th quickest time with the top 14 going through to the semifinals.
