Queen Alia airport welcomes 4 million passengers during H1

AMMAN — Over the course of the first six months of 2018, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 3,884,518 million passengers, registering a 7.6 per cent year-on-year increase, according to figures released by Airport International Group.
Since the beginning of the year until the end of June, QAIA also witnessed 36,301 aircraft movements and handled 52,120 tonnes of cargo — amounting to a 1.1 per cent and 1.5 per cent increase respectively — compared to the same period in 2017.
Top destinations contributing to this notable growth were Alexandria, Antalya, Baghdad, Cairo, Doha, Istanbul, Kuwait, Paphos and Rome. Monthly figures for passengers and cargo were also the highest ever recorded for the month of June.
