Jordan’s Abu Gaoud wins Asian gold

AMMAN — Zaki Abu Gaoud has won gold at the Asian Karate Championships taking place in Japan, according to the Jordan Olympic Committee News Service.
The youngster won the 70kg category after beating Chinese Taipei’s Chen Cheh 4-1 in the final. Earlier he beat Japan’s Yukama Kautaru 8-3 and Vietnam’s Dang Tang 3-2 in the semifinal.
Afif Gaith missed out in the quarter-finals to Iran’s Hussein Khudari.
