AMMAN — Mohammed Noufal has held on to the top of the Jordan Drift Championship at the second round held at the Dead Sea Service Park this weekend.
Noufal finished fifth overall in his BMW, and was the fourth Jordanian to finish, which was enough to keep his lead at the top of the standings by just a point, a statement from the Jordan Olympic Committee has said.
Breathing down his neck in second is reigning champion Mohammad Al Foqahaa who finished third on Friday, but lurking just behind the pair is round two winner Omar Al Kukhun.
Kukhun performed superbly to impress the Dead Sea judges and finished ahead of Mahmoud Shaddad, who moved up to fourth on the championship table. The international entry was taken home by El Sayyed Ghareb of Egypt, who finished fourth overall, according to the statement.
The event attracted an impressive 37 drivers, and the table could not be tighter going into the third-of-five rounds scheduled to take place on May 31.
