AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved a grant agreement intended to be signed between the government, the Water Authority of Jordan and the European Investment Bank to support the second phase of Wadi Al Arab water project, with a total value of 13.75 million euros.
The scheme aims at increasing drinking water supply to the northern governorates through a developed water resource, reducing reliance on local wells, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.
The project aims at equipping local communities in the north to face drought and climate change, while contributing to economic and social development, Petra added.
