7 arrested over shooting in Gardens area

AMMAN — Public Security Department (PSD) personnel on Thursday arrested seven people suspected of shooting at a shop in Amman’s Gardens Street (Wasfi Al Tal Street), according to a PSD statement.

PSD’s public relations said that Amman’s Police Department had received information last month about a “large group of individuals” who opened fire and assaulted owners of a shop in the Gardens area.

An employee was injured as the suspects fled the scene after setting fire to several garbage units in the area. According to police, the incident was caused by a former dispute between two individuals, which escalated later. The case remains open as investigations continue.
