King meets with Malaysia sovereign wealth fund delegation

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday met with a delegation from the sovereign wealth fund of the government of Malaysia at Al Husseiniya Palace, according to a Royal Court statement.
The meeting reviewed the business environment, the advantages of the Jordanian economy and the prospects of expanding the Malaysian fund’s investments in the Kingdom, especially in the sectors of energy, water, information technology, healthcare and others.
The Malaysian fund, which has investments worth $20 billion in more than 50 international companies, currently has four investments in the region worth $500 million, two of which are in Jordan.
The meeting was attended by King’s Office Director Jafar Hassan and Minister of State for Investment Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh.
