AMMAN — The Criminal Court prosecutor on Saturday charged three brothers with complicity in premeditated murder in connection with the shooting death of their divorced sister in Balqa Governorate on Friday, official sources said.
The 28-year-old victim died of multiple gunshot wounds from a pistol while at her family’s home, a senior judicial source said.
A 19-year-old man turned himself in to police shortly after the shooting incident claiming “to have killed his sister over family problems”, the senior judicial source said.
However, investigators also arrested two of the victim’s brothers “on suspicion of complicity in the crime”, a second source added.
“The prosecutor decided to arrest two more brothers and charged them with the same charges as their teenage brother, because he believes they had a role in their sister’s death,” the second source told The Jordan Times.
The sources refused to reveal the reason behind the murder or any additional details despite repeated requests by The Jordan Times.
Police Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi was also unavailable all day to comment on the incident.
