Criteria to endorse governorate council budgets outlined

AMMAN — Political and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Musa Maaytah on Thursday outlined the criteria used to endorse budgets of governorate councils, which will be elected next month, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The government will approve the budgets based on the population and the size of each governorate, poverty and unemployment indicators, individual income, economic activity, revenues of each governorate and the projects expected to be implemented, Maaytah said. He called upon civil society institutions to encourage young people to participate in the governorate council elections.
