AMMAN — Authorities’ helicopters helped put out a blaze that erupted in the Kamaliyeh area, west of Amman, on Saturday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported, quoting Civil Defence Department (CDD) as saying.
CDD firefighters, under the supervision of CDD Director Maj. Gen. Mustafa Bazaiah, dealt with the blaze which extended over a dozen dunums of dry grass and forest trees but caused no injuries.
Extinguishing the blaze took more than three hours due to the area’s rough terrain and brisk winds that caused it to spread, Petra reported, adding that initial investigation has indicated that the fire erupted due to an electric fault.
