The Cabinet also approved the formation of a technical committee for the project, to be headed by the Transport Ministry’s secretary general and representatives of relevant ministries and public departments.
The project aims at building a logistic system to provide services of transportation, shipping, storing, packing and distributing goods at a regional level, in order to increase Jordan’s competitiveness among neighbouring countries.
The Cabinet’s report said that designs created for this project and for the Maan land port project aimed to include the ports on the proposed road of the national railway project, in order to achieve more benefits from these two ports’ services.
