AMMAN — The Department of Statistics (DoS) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with USAID, UNICEF and the UN Population Fund to finance the “Population and Family Health Survey” in Jordan for 2017, to be conducted at the beginning of September, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Under the memorandum, the $1.5 million-survey is expected to provide around 200 jobs to field and office surveyors, Petra reported, adding that initial results are expected in February 2018, while the main report should be available by the following September.
DoS Director General Qasim Zu’bi said the Population and Family Health Survey is conducted every five years and is the seventh one of its kind and will run for between six to 10 months, noting that the first census took place in 1990.
