King, Saudi monarch attend military parade

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), and Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz on Tuesday attended a military parade at Al Rayah parade ground at the Royal Court.
The two monarchs, surrounded by Royal Guards, were greeted by 42 live ammunition shots from a canon, according to a Royal Court statement.
The national anthems of both countries played as the kings arrived at Al Rayah parade ground, while two Royal Air Force helicopters were flying, raising the flags of Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
JAF music band played several pieces as the soldiers marched and performed formations.
Hamzah Bin Abdul Muttalib Royal Guards Brigade performed their show while paratroops from the Joint Special Operations Forces skydived into the parade ground, raising the flags of both countries.
Poetry recitals and flag shows were also part of the ceremony.
The show was attended by several members of the Royal family, senior officials and officers, in addition to members of the Saudi royal family and senior officials accompanying King Salman.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah presented the Saudi leader with Al Hussein Bin Ali Medal, in recognition of deep historic bilateral ties, according to the Royal Court.
