Child drowns in cesspool; 3 killed in Mafraq accident

AMMAN — A six-year-old child has drowned in a cesspool next to her house in Bseira District in Tafileh, some 180km southwest of Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted a Civil Defence Department (CDD) source as saying on Tuesday. CDD personnel retrieved the body and transferred it to Prince Zeid Military Hospital. They have initiated an investigation into the incident.
In another incident, three people died and two were injured when their vehicle overturned in Safawi area in Mafraq, some 80km northeast of Amman, on Tuesday morning. CDD personnel administrated first-aid to the injured and took them to Safawi healthcare centre where, they were reported to be in critical condition.
