AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and Baghdad Municipality on Monday discussed ways to boost cooperation and exchange expertise.
At a meeting with Baghdad Mayor Thikra Allosh, Amman Mayor Aqel Biltaji stressed the importance of further developing bilateral relations, including addressing challenges related to population growth and urban expansion, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Allosh expressed interest in benefiting from GAM’s experience in the fields of environment and waste collecting and processing, noting that some 8,000 tonnes of waste is produced daily in Baghdad, which houses some 7.5 million people in an area of 900 square kilometres.
