National agreement inked to counter domestic violence

AMMAN — As part of the National Council for Family Affairs’ (NCFA) efforts to boost coordination among the concerned parties in family protection, an agreement has been signed to enhance measures against domestic violence at the national level, a council statement said Wednesday.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Minister of Education Mohammad Thneibat, Health Minister Mahmoud Sheyyab, acting minister of social development Musa Maaytah, Public Security Department Director Maj. Gen. Atef Saudi, Jordan River Foundation Director General Enaam Barrishi, UNICEF Representative to Jordan Robert Jenkins, UNHCR officials and NCFA Secretary General Fadel Hmoud.
The move aims to prompt immediate response to domestic violence and connect the concerned authorities together to facilitate service provision.
